What families are agreeing to
- New families begin with a 90-day trial period; written or emailed notice is required to withdraw or drop classes.
- Returning-family tuition commitments become binding on June 1 for the approved weekly hours across the 34-week program year.
- Registration and material fees are nonrefundable, and some financial obligations continue after withdrawal.
- Basic family policies and the Tuition Contract are reviewed and signed in Sawyer during registration.
- Leaves will contact a parent or guardian about specific program-fit or conduct concerns before taking action.
- Families should discuss learning, accessibility, behavioral, medical, or supervision needs with Leaves before enrolling.
New Families
Enrollment for new families at Leaves of Learning is a 90-day trial period for both the family and the program.
Within 90 days of starting the program, a parent or guardian may remove a student from the program or drop classes for any reason. Leaves must receive notice in writing or by email. The family remains responsible for:
- Full tuition through the end of the month in which Leaves receives the notice;
- Material fees for the entire program year; and
- Any unpaid tuition or class fees.
After 90 days of enrollment, new families are obligated to pay full tuition for the remainder of the program year.
Leaves of Learning may terminate enrollment when a student or family is in breach of the Tuition Contract, including failure to make payments on time.
Returning Families
Leaves of Learning makes contractual financial commitments throughout the calendar year. To maintain the quality of instruction and activities, annual tuition income must be assured.
The obligation to pay tuition for the number of weekly hours approved as of June 1 becomes binding on June 1 and continues for the full 34-week program year.
In rare cases, the Board of Directors may evaluate a written petition for an exception. If a student withdraws before July 1, no tuition is incurred. Registration and material fees are not refunded.
Leaves of Learning may terminate enrollment when a student or family is in breach of the Tuition Contract, including failure to make payments on time.
All Families
Leaves may ask a student to leave the program when the student’s needs are not being met, or when behavior cannot be safely managed or materially detracts from the experience of others in the program.
Program facilitators and the Leaves of Learning Board of Directors work together on these decisions. A parent or guardian will be contacted about specific concerns before action is taken.
Learning Support Needs and Program Fit
Leaves of Learning believes every child deserves fair, respectful treatment. We do not label or track students.
Leaves is a small learning community rather than a specialized therapeutic or special-education program. Our ability to support a student depends on the accommodations, instruction, supervision, communication, behavioral, or medical support the student needs and on the staffing and resources currently available.
Before enrolling, please contact us to discuss your student’s strengths, needs, and existing supports. We will consider whether Leaves can support the student safely and meaningfully and will be direct when another setting may be better equipped.

We do not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, color, or national or ethnic origin in the administration of policies, events, activities, or classes.
